Crouch Rips Great Lakes for 5 Hits Monday, July 8th , 2047 The 5th time was not the charm for Dave Crouch today. The starting pitcher for the Augusta GreenJackets hit the milestone today at Lake Olmstead Stadium, but it was the Great Lakes Loons that salvaged a 8-6 victory. Crouch finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Great Lakes manager Aaron Holbert said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Crouch declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Dave Crouch singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. This season Crouch has gone 3-1 with an ERA of 3.08, posting 27 strikeouts in 38 innings. |
