Gagnon Bangs Out 5 Base Hits Tuesday, July 9th , 2047 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Kannapolis's 11-1 win over Cedar Rapids today, center fielder Jay Gagnon was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at CMC-NorthEast Stadium. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Gagnon said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Jay Gagnon tripled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th. This year Gagnon is hitting .280, produced 22 RBIs and 1 home runs, scored 42 times and gotten on base at a .372 rate. |
