Cubs Pitching Ravaged by Raker Wednesday, August 21st , 2047 It was high-fives all around for Jason Raker at Neuroscience Feild at Fox Cities Stadium today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the South Bend Cubs. Raker smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 18-1 win. "Jason was hitting everything," said Timber Rattlers manager Devin Vainer. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Cubs manager Akil Baddoo told BNN beat writers that Raker "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Raker oversleeps next time." Jason Raker singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, tripled in the 4th, walked in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th. This season in 75 games Raker is batting .316 with 4 home runs, 45 RBIs and has scored 47 times. |
