Mims Belts Bunch of Base Hits Saturday, August 24th , 2047 It was a parade of hits for Jamie Mims of the Hartford Yard Goats at Four Winds Field at Coveleski Stadium today. Connecting with regularity, Mims finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 6 at-bats, but the Cubs rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 13-12 win. "Mims was really good, we were just a little better," said Cubs manager Akil Baddoo in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, as long as we win." Jamie Mims grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 8th and singled in the 9th. This year Mims has batted at a .305 pace with 74 hits, no home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 35 times. |
