Valdovinos Shuts Out Lexington, 12-0 Sunday, August 25th , 2047 It wasn't easy but the Lansing Lugnuts made it look that way. Starter Jon Valdovinos shut out the Lexington Legends despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Lansing Lugnuts cruised to victory, 12-0. Valdovinos allowed only 4 hits and rang up 3 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win. "It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up." This season to date Valdovinos has a record of 13 wins and 5 losses with a 1.88 ERA, has appeared in 23 games and struck out 156 in 163 innings. |
