West Michigan's Zimmerman Suspended 3 Games Thursday, September 5th , 2047 For his part in an altercation with an umpire over a third strike, West Michigan Whitecaps center fielder Joe Zimmerman will have to sit out 3 games. The league commissioner's office today notified the Whitecaps that Zimmerman had been suspended for his poor conduct during the Drive game yesterday at Fluor Field at the West End. After being ejected, Zimmerman turned and walked toward the dugout, but then turned around, began yelling at the umpire and kicked dirt on home plate. The league said this type of behavior is not acceptable and will be dealt with according to league disciplinary policies. This year Zimmerman is batting .161 with 23 home runs and 61 RBIs. |
