Chiefs on to Conference Championship Monday, October 14th , 2047 The Division Championship may not have lived up to the expectation that it would be a dogfight that would go the distance. The Peoria Chiefs, however, are not complaining. The Chiefs were plenty happy to have wrapped up the series early and to have knocked out the Kane County Cougars to advance to the Conference Championship. Peoria won the final game by a 6-1 count at Dozer Park and the series 4-1. Chiefs left fielder Gerardo Macias was named series MVP, as he hit .389 with a .500 on-base percentage. He added 4 home runs, drove in 7 RBI and scored 6 runs. "It's not going to be the last time Kane County makes it to the playoffs, so it's sure a nice feeling to put them out this year," Macias said. "We just need to keep this going and take it day by day." The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
