Loons Prevail, as Division Championship Goes to the Wire Friday, October 18th , 2047 The fans in Great Lakes are delirious, while there is little joy to be found in Greensboro. The Great Lakes Loons finished off the Greensboro Grasshoppers 8-6 in the deciding game of the Division Championship played at Dow Diamond. They took the series 4-3 and will now head to the Conference Championship. For his standout play, Great Lakes third baseman Devon Fourcade was voted the series' Most Valuable Player. He batted .478, drove in 3 runs and scored 7 to lead his club to victory. "We could never really figure out how to pitch to Fourcade and that doomed us," said Grasshoppers manager Julio Pina. "Hats off to Great Lakes, though. That was a great series." The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes. |
