Saturday, October 19th , 2047
Midwest League fans were certainly not disappointed with this American League Division Championship.
The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Lansing Lugnuts prevailing over the Bowling Green Hot Rods to advance to the Conference Championship.
Lansing won the final game by a score of 5-4 at Cooley Law School Stadium and that sealed the series 4-3.
"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said second baseman Tokuji Kawabata, who earned MVP honors.
For the series, Kawabata hit .444 with a .531 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 7 runs.
The Conference Championship matchups and schedule will be announced after the Division Championship finishes.
