Kawasaki Scoops up NL Top Hurler Award

It was a dream season for Etsuji Kawasaki of Great Lakes Loons. He pitched his way to a 14-7 record and carted off the 2047 National League Outstanding Pitcher Award.

Working 174.1 innings this year, Kawasaki made 25 starts, struck out 216 and crafted a 2.32 ERA. He gave up 152 hits and 59 walks and limited other teams to a .230 average.

He received 30 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Shane Walker of the Kane County Cougars finished second in voting, while Sipi Mäkitie of the Kane County Cougars finished third.
