Taveras Wins NL 2047 Most Valuable Player Award
Wednesday, November 27th , 2047
At the age of 21, Manuel Taveras of the Greensboro Grasshoppers could very well have his best years ahead of him.
It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2047 was good enough to win the left fielder the National League Most Valuable Player Award.
"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."
The top hitter put up a .325 batting average this year, as well as a .394 on-base percentage. He played 138 games and racked up 178 hits, 35 doubles, 4 triples, 25 home runs, 100 RBIs and 93 runs scored.
He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 30. Carlos Cuellar of the Fort Wayne TinCaps finished second in voting with 12 first place votes, while Chad Mendoza of the Kane County Cougars finished third with 3 first place votes.
