Cook Tags Emeralds for 5 Hits
Friday, July 12th , 2047
Even as a kid, Adrian Cook said his coaches told him the key to hitting was making contact, and letting everything else flow from there. At PK Park today, Cook showed how well he learned that lesson.
The 22-year-old left fielder had 5 hits in 6 at-bats for the Tri-City Dust Devils, helping his team knock off the Eugene Emeralds by a score of 12-5.
"They always said, just keep your eye on the ball, don't overswing, make contact and you never know what will happen," he said. "That's all I did today."
Adrian Cook singled in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, struck out in the 6th, walked in the 8th, singled in the 9th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
Thus far this season Cook has hit .295 with 1 home run, 28 RBIs and scored 53 times.
