Rubio and Jones Fight, Suspended 7 Games
Wednesday, July 24th , 2047
The fans at Memorial Stadium saw it all yesterday in the Hawks-Volcanoes game -- pushes, shoves, scuffles, a few tackles, a few swings, a few feeble punches -- and a baseball game, too. When the ruckus was over, only two players were sent to the showers by the umpire crew. Boise's Javier Rubio and Salem-Keizer's Tristan Jones were ejected from the game.
Today the two players were suspended 7 games by the league commissioner.
This season Rubio is batting .216 with 32 hits, 4 home runs, 13 RBIs, .305 OBP and has scored 19 runs.
This year Jones has a 2-9 record and a 7.46 ERA.
