League Rules Warren Out 4 Games
Tuesday, August 6th , 2047
The suspension of third baseman Brian Warren did not sit well with the Staten Island Yankees. Both Warren and his manager were livid at what both say is an unjustified 4-game suspension issued today by league officials. Warren was suspended for "inappropriate conduct" during a game against the Hudson Valley Renegades yesterday at Dutchess Stadium.
Warren was ejected from the game for arguing a strike call. "It's not right," he said, adding, "I didn't do anything to deserve this. Eject me, but don't suspend me."
His manager also vented his displeasure. "Arguments go on all the time, face-to-face, and there's not a suspension. To be suspended is ridiculous. That's bull."
Warren did more than just argue the call, he threw his bat at the feet of the umpire and walked off the field. That is the main reason the league suspended him.
Warren is batting .194 with 11 home runs and 51 RBIs this season.
