Bonfanti Grabs NL Reliever of the Year

When Chris Bonfanti jogged in from the bullpen this season, opposing teams knew they were going to have a tough time putting up runs.

The
Hillsboro Hops starting pitcher turned in a dominant campaign and has been named the National League Reliever of the Year winner for 2047.

His award-winning season saw the bullpen ace get 1 save in 42 relief appearances, 119 strikeouts in 107 innings and only 22 walks. He had a record of 9 wins and no losses to go with his 2.69 ERA.

"I hope I can pitch like this every year," he said.

He received 7 first place votes out of a possible 30. Micah Watson of the Los Angeles (NYP) Dodgers finished second in voting with 11 first place votes, while Mike Flynn of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes finished third with 12 first place votes.
