Pena Rewarded with 2047 NL Most Valuable Player Award
Thursday, November 14th , 2047
At the age of 22, Frank Pena of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes could very well have his best years ahead of him.

It's a startling thought when you consider the year he had in 2047 was good enough to win the left fielder the National League Most Valuable Player Award.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "That's my basic approach."

The top hitter put up a .313 batting average this year, as well as a .412 on-base percentage. He played 112 games and racked up 129 hits, 25 doubles, 11 triples, 21 home runs, 68 RBIs and 82 runs scored.

He received 22 first place votes out of a possible 30. Ruben Serrata of the Los Angeles (NYP) Dodgers finished second in voting with 2 first place votes, while Eric McMillian of the Tri-City Dust Devils finished third.
