Edmunds Raps 3 HR Against Astros
Sunday, September 22nd , 2047
Nick Edmunds was in a home run mode today at Pioneer Park. The Seattle (APP) right fielder massacred Astros pitching, cracking out three home runs and going 4-for-5 with 7 RBIs and scoring 3 runs. But this sensational performance didn't really matter. Greeneville won the ballgame 15-12 despite the three homers.
"I wish a big 'W' had come with this," he said. "It's great to hit three homers, but the bottom line is whether you win or lose."
Nonetheless, Edmunds will now have a place in the league record book.
"I guess when you're hot, you're hot," he said. "I'm not going up there trying to hit home runs. I put the good part of the bat on it and luckily three of them went out today."
Nick Edmunds hit a two-run home run off Guadalupe Gonzalez in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Marty Jackson in the 5th, hit a three-run home run off Ernie Bell in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
Edmunds is hitting .247 for the season with 22 home runs, 70 RBIs and 85 runs scored. He has 109 hits in 442 at-bats and played in 112 games.
