Reeves Collects Cycle
Wednesday, October 2nd , 2047
Xavier Reeves accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Chicago (APP) Cubs in the 8-4 Washington (APP) Nationals win at Baseball City Complex.
Afterward, Reeves acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Nationals win.
"Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Reeves said.
On his historic day, he went 5-for-5 with 2 runs batted in and 2 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books.
Xavier Reeves hit a solo-shot off Tom Mooney in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI triple in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
During the current season Reeves is batting at a .226 clip with 6 home runs and 36 RBIs. He has played in 85 games and scored 56 times.
