Roben Hits for the Cycle

Today at Calfee Park, Elizabethton Twins second baseman George Roben accomplished a true baseball rarity, knocking a single, double, triple and a home run to hit for the cycle and lead the Twins to a 16-6 win over the Pulaski Yankees.

In a standout performance, Roben laced 4 hits in 6 at-bats and had 3 RBI.

"I felt good before the game, I felt good during it, and I feel great now," Roben told reporters.

George Roben hit a solo-shot off Eric Patrick in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, hit a two-run double in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and singled in the 8th.

This season Roben is swinging the bat at a .275 pace. He has hit 18 home runs and scored 88 times, while driving in 66. His on-base percentage is .435 and he has played in 92 games.
