Sanchez Powers 3 HR Against San Diego (APP) Wednesday, October 30th , 2047 Ogden Raptors second baseman Jerry Sanchez sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the San Diego (APP) Padres, Sanchez told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Sanchez pushed the Raptors past the Padres, 16-2. To go along with the homers, he collected 9 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Sanchez told reporters after the game. Jerry Sanchez hit a two-run home run off Juan Lopez in the 1st, hit a three-run home run off Juan Lopez in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Russell MacKay in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and grounded out in the 7th. This season Sanchez is hitting .326 with 167 hits, 69 home runs, 159 RBIs, scored 157 runs and played in 130 games. |
