Raptors Dominate, Sweep Conference Series
Sunday, November 17th , 2047
Many baseball pundits expected a close series in the National League Conference Series. It turned out quite a bit different.
The Ogden Raptors swept aside the Bristol Pirates to advance to the World Series, winning the final game by a 5-1 score at Devault Memorial Stadium.
The series MVP was left fielder Steve Pond, who hit .429 with a .579 on-base percentage. He had 3 home runs, drove in 6 RBI and scored 5 runs.
"We expected this series to go right down to the wire, so to sweep is a bit of a surprise," he said. "But we'll take it."
The World Series matchups and schedule will be announced after the Conference Series finishes.
