Blue Jays Flame Out Against Puffer, Twins
Friday, January 18th , 2047
Bud Puffer kept the opposition off the scoreboard and the Minnesota (WIN) Twins were all smiles after winning 6-0 against the Toronto (WIN) Blue Jays at Florida Auto Exchange Stadium today. The right-handed Puffer gave up no runs in his start, permitted 4 hits and had 11 strikeouts.
"If there was a stat for 'team shutout,' this would be it," Puffer said later. "My catcher called a great game, guys delivered at the plate and when I messed something up the guys behind me were where they needed to be."
This season Puffer has a 6-0 mark in 9 starts with a 1.43 ERA. He has given up 44 hits in 69.1 innings, struck out 92 and issued 9 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .182 batting average against him.
