Romanovsky Rips 3 HR
Friday, January 8th , 2044
Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Steven Romanovsky can celebrate.
The New York (WIN) Mets first baseman powered three into the stands at Champion Stadium today against the Atlanta (WIN) Braves.
"It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Romanovsky told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one."
In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Mets toppled Atlanta (WIN) by a score of 13-11, knocking in 6 runs and scoring 3 times.
"He is blessed with a natural home run swing," New York (WIN) manager Edgar Alfonzo said. "He gets the ball up in the air."
Steven Romanovsky hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Eduardo Baez in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Eduardo Baez in the 5th, hit a two-run home run off Danny Nerio in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th and walked in the 9th.
So far this season Romanovsky has gotten 44 hits in 138 at-bats for a .319 batting average with 10 home runs. His stats include 32 RBIs and 24 runs scored. He has played in 36 games.
