Paredes Batters University of California Big Time
Sunday, December 8th , 2047
Washington State University left fielder Miguel Paredes had a fantastic day at the plate at Bailey-Brayton Field today, knocking out 5 hits and pacing his club to a 15-6 victory.
"It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Paredes said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Golden Bears. "No offense meant to University of California, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well. But this wasn't a kid park, it was Bailey-Brayton Field."
After the game, his manager elaborated on the left fielder's improvements, saying Paredes spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball.
"That's what I'm trying to do," Paredes said. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
Miguel Paredes singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a three-run home run off Frank Salinas in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and walked in a run in the 8th.
So far this year in 79 games Paredes is hitting .287 with 11 home runs, 57 RBIs and 50 runs scored.
