Gates Sizzles with 20-Game Batting Streak Sunday, December 22nd , 2047 Steve Gates ran his hitting streak to 20 straight games today at Doug Kingsmore Stadium, when he collected 1 hit in 4 at-bats. The feat came, however, as the Clemson University Tigers dropped the game, 6-4, to the Oklahoma State University Cowboys. "Hey, the streak is great -- I hope it never ends," Gates said later. "But I'm not happy to lose the game." Steve Gates hit an RBI double in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and grounded out in the 9th. This season Gates is batting .253 with 94 hits, 7 home runs, 25 RBIs, .338 OBP and has scored 44 runs. |
