Baltodano Tosses 5-0 Shutout Against Houston Wednesday, June 5th , 2047 The Houston Colt .45's were almost helpless today in their 5-0 loss to the Miami Beach Marlins and hurler Ivan Baltodano. Baltodano kept the Colt .45's confused all game, spinning a 3-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Baltodano," Houston manager Gregory Guerrero said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 18-year-old right-hander had 1 walk and 8 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Baltodano said. "It was just one of those games that things went my way." Checking out his stats for the season, Baltodano has registered 2 wins and 3 losses in 6 starts, 2.76 ERA and struck out 38 batters in 45.2 innings. |
