Mick Tucker Drills 3 HR in One Game
Friday, June 7th , 2047
Colorado Avalanche first baseman Mick Tucker put on a dazzling display of power today at Andrew Wray Stadium against the Kelowna Heat. In the 15-4 Avalanche victory Tucker penned his name into the record books, slamming a trio of home runs in one of baseball's finest single-day efforts.
"He can hit them out anywhere, right, center, left, it doesn't matter," Kelowna manager Ian Beeching said. "He's super strong and stays on the ball so well."
Along with his three home runs, the 21-year-old had 4 hits in 6 at-bats, 3 RBIs and 3 runs scored.
"Life will always throw you curves, just keep fouling them off," Tucker said after the game, when asked about his hitting philosophy. "The right pitch will come, and when it does, be prepared to run the bases. Or trot around them, like I did today."
Mick Tucker struck out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Ken Cromsie in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Ken Cromsie in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Jason Haas in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.
So far this year in 24 games Tucker is hitting .361 with 13 home runs, 27 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
