Kawashima Twirls No-Hitter Against Pirates Monday, August 19th , 2047 In a dominant outing, Tara Kawashima of the Brockton Rox totally silenced the bats of the Chester Pirates, finishing with a no-hitter. In the Rox' 1-0 victory, Kawashima faced only 29 batters, surrendered no hits, had 12 strikeouts and 2 walks. "Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Brockton manager Doug Brockett said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any." Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Chris Peterson had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game. "The Rox had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Kawashima pitched a heck of a ballgame." In 16 starts this year Kawashima has fashioned a 4-8 record and a 3.79 ERA. |
