Americus Skunks Palm Beach, 5-0 Tuesday, August 20th , 2047 Pu-la Yun led the Americus Braves to a 5-0 shutout victory over the Palm Beach Nationals at The Big Americus Stadium today. "My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Yun recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location." Yun yielded 4 hits and had 7 strikeouts and no walks in the standout performance. "I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Palm Beach manager Clancy Wilkins said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching." This year Yun has made 19 starts, thrown 138.1 innings, fanned 143 batters and walked 50. His won-lost record is 9-4 with a 3.12 ERA. |
