Wuopio Twirls No-Hitter Against Cardinals
Thursday, September 12th , 2047
In a dominant outing, Bror Wuopio of the Detroit Red Wings totally silenced the bats of the Hamilton Cardinals, finishing with a no-hitter.
In the Red Wings' 2-0 victory, Wuopio faced only 28 batters, surrendered no hits, had 12 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"Honestly, I didn't even know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning," Detroit manager Lee Alonzo said. "I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had gotten, and I happened to notice that they hadn't gotten any."
Commenting on the defeat, losing manager Nelson Boche had a "pretty simple" analysis of the game.
"The Red Wings had all the hits and all the runs, so they won," he snapped. "But yeah, Wuopio pitched a heck of a ballgame."
So far this year Wuopio has compiled a 13-6 record with a 2.99 ERA.
