Perucci Raps Palm Beach for 5 Hits
Friday, October 4th , 2047
There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day.
Neal Perucci is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Palm Beach Nationals at Ballpark of Victoria today. The monster effort from the 18-year-old catcher helped the Victoria Capitals take the win, 14-0.
"We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Nationals manager Clancy Wilkins. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today."
Neal Perucci singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 8th.
This year Perucci is hitting .211 with 10 home runs and 36 RBIs to his credit. He has gotten on base at a .284 clip and scored 34 runs.
