Gators Williams Gets No-Hitter
Wednesday, December 25th , 2047
Excitement reigned at McKethan Stadium today as University of Florida Gators hurler Jordan Williams tossed a baseball rarity -- a no-hitter.
After defeating the University of Georgia Bulldogs, 3-0, he was swamped by reporters in the clubhouse for postgame comments.
"I'm just glad to be here," Williams said. "Today I just went right at the Bulldogs as hard as I could, as long as I could."
Williams chalked up 7 strikeouts and allowed no walks in his superb performance.
"I don't think they could have stopped him with a howitzer today," said University of Florida manager Andrew Theron.
This year Williams has posted a record of 8 wins and 3 losses with a 0.85 ERA. He has appeared in 23 games and struck out 143 in 116.2 innings.
