White Sox Win, Knoops goes 4-for-4
|
The Chicago White Sox beat the Seattle Mariners, 8-1, at U.S. Cellular Field. The win was due in part to third baseman Dieter Knoops, who was 4-4 with 3 doubles, while scoring 4 times and driving in 2. Stacy Hootentootin got credit for the win, improving to 3-3. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 6 innings. The save was credited to Allen Speidel, his 1st.
Joseph Disepolo, who finished 4th in the NL in RBI with 126 in 2039, chipped in for Chicago with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the third. For the game, the second baseman had 2 hits in 4 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 4 runs batted in.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Knoops said.
The win puts Chicago at 16-14.
