The California Angels knocked off the Houston Astros, 6-4, at Minute Maid Park. Luis Romero hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 1 runs. Picking up the save was Dave Jackson, his 6th. The Angels, now 22-9, have been playing some good baseball.

California used a clutch hit from Ruben Velasco to get the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Angels ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.

"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Velasco said.
