Jank Now 5-1 After Subduing Giants
|
AT&T Park hosted a real pitchers' duel.
In a low-scoring affair between the New York Mets and the San Francisco Giants, pitcher Jeff Jank was the difference between victory and defeat. The New York right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Mets win. Earning his 8th save for New York was Sam Schrecengost.
Jank, who was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, threw 99 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.
"Runs were at a premium," said New York manager Rabdix Double Dip.
With the win, New York pushed its record to 19-18.
