Dodgers Top Chicago, 4-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers faced a tough opponent in Chicago pitcher Unkei Wakamatsu, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Wrigley Field by a final score of 4-3. Wakamatsu went 8 innings and allowed 1 run. Joon-ho Rhee, credited with the win, is now 3-1. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits. Chicago, at 19-21, has lost 4 straight.
Los Angeles used a clutch hit from John Piccolo to snatch the win. The designated hitter belted a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dodgers ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was huge.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Chicago manager Mergatroid Skittle. "The effort was great."
