14-4 Loss Extends Baltimore Skid
The New York Yankees topped the Baltimore Orioles, 14-4, in American League action at Yankee Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of New York pitcher John Brice. Brice, the winner, moves to 2-7. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 4 walks. Baltimore is in the throes of a 13-game skid.

The Yankees got an important contribution from second baseman Joel Vera, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a fastball into right-center for a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Yankees ahead, 13-0.

"We're a talented bunch when we're playing well," said Brice. "I think we showed that here."
