Cubs Roll to 8-3 Win Over Reds
|
Starting pitcher Unkei Wakamatsu pitched well enough to help the Chicago Cubs beat the Cincinnati Reds, 8-3. Wakamatsu got the win, improving to 4-2. He allowed 6 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Wakamatsu allowed 3 runs. Chicago has now won 3 straight, while the Reds have lost 3 in a row.
Moe Lester, who led the NL in stolen bases with 60 in 2039, helped out the Chicago cause in the bottom of the second inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 2 walk.
"We came out aggressive," said Cubs manager Mergatroid Skittle. "We came out swinging the bats."
