Spikes Cleary Smacks 6 Hits
|
Tim Cleary exploded for a barrage of base hits today at Volcanoes Stadium.
The State College third baseman had a field day in the 24-1 triumph over the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes, finishing 6-for-6.
"My hitting philosophy is simple," he said. "I focus on just seeing the ball and I try to get a good pitch."
Cleary must have focused at least 6 times and apparently got some good pitches, too, leading to one of his best days ever with the bat. Tim Cleary walked in the 1st, was hit by a pitch in the 2nd, doubled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th, hit a three-run home run off Ken Cromsie in the 8th and hit an RBI double in the 9th.
Cleary is presently hitting at a .421 pace with 1 home run, 11 RBIs and has scored 9 times.
