15 Ks for Chauveau, Beats Salem-Keizer 3-1
|
Neal Chauveau of the Williamsport Crosscutters put on a pitching clinic today at Bowman Field as he struck out 15 Salem-Keizer Volcanoes in a 3-1 victory. Chauveau, who is tied for 4th in the NL in strikeouts with 66, was simply magnificent as he held the Volcanoes to 3 hits. He walked 1.
"I felt okay at the beginning," Chauveau said, "but eventually my fastball really started working. I also have to thank my catcher for calling a great game."
When asked about Chauveau's performance, Crosscutters manager David Stinson shook his head and said, "Yeah, he was good out there today. He was dominating."
Looking at his season stats, Chauveau has won 3 and lost 1, collecting 66 strikeouts and 10 walks in 48 innings with a 2.44 ERA.
