Luisa Raps Salem-Keizer for 6 Hits
|
Hillsboro first baseman Antonio Luisa had a big day at Ron Tonklin Field today against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. The 26-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 6-for-7 and led the Hops to a 31-0 triumph over Salem-Keizer.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Luisa said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Antonio Luisa singled in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Posting a .338 batting average to date, Luisa has no home runs and 14 RBIs.
