Braves Snatch Late Win
|
San Francisco got a terrific performance from pitcher Josh Lister, but it wasn't enough to beat the Atlanta Braves. Atlanta won the Turner Field contest, 6-2. Lister threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball for the losing team. The win belongs to Troy Baker in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Josh Lister took the loss for San Francisco. The Braves, at 35-29, lead by one game in their division.
Jeckel Hester drove in one run for Atlanta. The 12-year veteran had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Caleb Mullinax. It was his 33rd RBI of the season.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Hester. "And not try to do too much."
