Williamsport's Parra Goes Ballistic with 5 Hits
It was high-fives all around for John Parra at Volcanoes Stadium today.

He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes. Parra smashed 5 hits in 6 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 17-4 win.

"John was hitting everything," said Crosscutters manager David Stinson. "It really was a special game for him."

In the opposing dugout, Volcanoes manager Serafino Brito told BNN beat writers that Parra "ambushed" the club.

"Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," the skipper said. "Hopefully, Parra oversleeps next time."

John Parra doubled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Robert Soto in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, struck out in the 7th and singled in the 9th.

Thus far this year Parra is batting .266 with 10 home runs, 37 RBIs and 44 runs scored.
