Buchanan Hits Two Homers in 7-0 Win for Los Angeles
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers got a rain-soaked win over the New York Mets.
Riding the 2-hit performance of the three-time All-Star Clay Buchanan, the Los Angeles Dodgers stopped the New York Mets, 7-0. The winner in relief was Nate Allen. He is now 1-1. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 1.1 innings.
Los Angeles designated hitter Juan Concepcion contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the third. With two down, he hit a curveball into left field for a run-scoring single. It was his 42nd hit of the season and put the Dodgers ahead, 2-0.
"It's a good day to be a fan after a win like that," Concepcion told the Los Angeles Herald.
Los Angeles has now won 3 straight, while the Mets have lost 3 in a row.
