Hits Galore: Trites Drills 5 Hits
|
The 5th time was not the charm for Chris Trites today.
The third baseman for the Rome Braves hit the milestone today at State Mutual Stadium, but it was the Brooklyn Cyclones that salvaged a 6-3 victory. Trites finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough.
"He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Brooklyn manager Rainer Florez said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win."
Trites declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one."
Chris Trites hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, singled in the 8th and singled in the 10th.
Currently Trites is batting .287 with 96 hits and 6 home runs. He has knocked in 50 runs and scored 72 times.
