Blue Jays Run Win Streak to 9
|
New York second baseman Joel Vera had a good game, even if his team did not. The Yankees dropped a 6-5 decision to Toronto at Yankee Stadium. Vera slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Toronto has now won 9 games in a row.
Toronto used the timely hitting of Willis Robles to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Blue Jays ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"You work hard, day in and day out, hoping to give the fans something to cheer about. Today was a good day," Robles told the Toronto News.
