Diamondbacks Take Down Nationals, 5-4
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Washington Nationals rewarded fans hoping for nail-biter.

The Arizona Diamondbacks topped the Washington Nationals by the score of 5-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Warren Eisner. Eisner was 3-5 with 3 doubles. He scored 3 runs for the Diamondbacks on the day. The Diamondbacks, at 41-31, lead by one game in their division.

The most significant at-bat for Arizona came with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the ninth. Diamondbacks center fielder Mike Mentzer hit a run-scoring triple to win the game.

"We had a chance to win," said Washington manager Mike Shore, "but we didn't get it done."
