Athletics Get One-Run Win at Montreal
|
Oakland picked up a win at Quebecor Stadium, toppling the Montreal Expos, 6-5. Pitcher Franklin Rojas was one of the reasons the Athletics triumphed. Rojas, now 8-9, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 runs. Elijah Daniels locked down his 6th save.
Oakland used the clutch hitting of Nick Gentzel to capture the win. The pinch hitter drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Athletics ahead, 6-3. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a big one.
"Nice to tuck this win away," said Rojas.
The 'W' lifts Oakland's record to 41-42.
