Marlins Handle Mets, 8-6
|
The Miami Marlins topped the New York Mets by a score of 8-6. Leading the way was left fielder Jose Bregaro. Bregaro went 2 for 4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4 for the Marlins. The Mets, now 39-41, have lost 5 straight.
Bregaro contributed in the bottom of the fifth. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Miami get the win.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Bregaro said.
