Anderson Impresses in Montreal Loss
Despite a great performance by Montreal third baseman Steve Anderson, the Miami Marlins defeated the Expos by the score of 6-5 at Marlins Park. Anderson slugged 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Pharamond Lestrange, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, while striking out 1 and walking 1. The Marlins raised their record to 36-51.

The game was at a stalemate until designated hitter Steve Barnard came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Montreal pitcher Anass Rhammar, he hit a 0-2 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Miami on top, 6-5.

"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Barnard told the Miami Today.
